Agri Chemical E-Fate Scientists Ph.D or MS

Senior Level  to Mid level Environmental Fate and Metabolism Scientists needed.

This role is USA based and requires ability to work in the USA freely, we are not currently looking outside the US for candidates.

Scope: We are seeking an individual with experience conducting and managing GLP-compliant studies of the environmental fate of agricultural products. Additionally, the candidate will have experience dealing with regulatory agencies and drafting advocacy documents, experience interacting with both commercial and science groups, and a track record of recommending actions for scientific and regulatory strategies. The candidate will provide leadership in the development of e-fate study designs for global regulations, prepare protocols and manage the conduct of studies to determine the fate of test compounds in soil, water, plants, or animals, and become versed in e-fate information from historical studies.

Major Responsibility Areas

· Coordinate e-fate and crop residue field program, animal in-life phase, and analytical phase of studies.

· Provide oversight and leadership in the development of study designs, prepare protocols, and conduct studies necessary to determine the fate of test compounds in soil, water, plants or animals (livestock).

· Have knowledge and experience in the conduct of hydrolysis, photolysis, soil degradation, mobility, crop residues, and/or animal tissue residues to meet global study requirements.

· Ensure all contract laboratory operations and record keeping are of high quality, in compliance with the GLP standards, and meet other applicable regulations.

· Evaluate and trouble-shoot procedures and methodologies for the isolation, identification, and quantification of degradation products in soil, water, plants, and animals.

· Assure that study reports are completed on a timely basis to meet study goals and/or product registration needs.

· Contribute to FQPA risk assessment scenarios. Coordinate with Risk Assessment & Modeling to complete e-fate modeling and exposure risk assessments using e-fate data and parameters.

· Address Area needs for fate and exposure information and arguments to maintain registrations and competitive products.

· Partner or mentor others in the preparation of advocacy documents by providing interpretation of the science to support business expansion; rebutting and defending our position with regulators.

· Understand global guidelines and registrations requirements for crop and non-crop uses, support Area Registration Managers, and Global Regulatory Managers to satisfying data requirements.

· Manage the establishment of crop tolerances that support domestic and offshore uses of agricultural products. Oversee and lead the support of existing international MRLs/crop tolerances and establish new ones with the World Health Organization and Food and Agriculture Organization.

· Create an environment that fosters team work and individual development.

· Effectively and proactively manage multiple projects and resources to meet deadlines.

· Work to continuously improve processes, reducing resource commitments and reducing time.

Education PhD with 10 years relevant experience in environmental fate chemistry (soil, water, plants), food/feed residue analysis, analytical chemistry, and/or metabolism chemistry or

MS plus 15 years relevant experience as noted above

Experience

· Experience conducting and managing GLP-compliant environmental fate studies for agricultural products in soil, water, plants, livestock, or non-target species.

· Experience dealing with regulatory agencies and drafting advocacy documents, experience in the generation of GLP studies

· Interacting with both the commercial and science business groups,

· Effective managerial and interpersonal skills; able to foster a sense of teamwork and collaboration with others

· Excellent and effective written and verbal communication skills

· Able to deliver results on time

· Good computer skills ( Microsoft tools)

· Project management skills preferred
