Product Development and Technical Services Manager

Miller Ag is seeking a Development and Technical Services Manager to oversee all aspects of field development for the herbicide portfolio in the United States and Canada.

 

Description of duties

The primary responsibilities of the Herbicide Development and Technical Services Manager are to:

·         Manage all aspects of the herbicide field development program while developing and communicating competitive positioning for each active ingredient across all markets.

·         Prioritize and define herbicide development needs for new active ingredients and branded products.

·         Utilize general knowledge of North American agriculture to identify and develop new market opportunities for existing products.

·         Create single and multi-year plans and budgets for all herbicide development projects.

·         Communicate with colleagues in Japan and Latin America to review project plans and protocols, providing support as required.

·         Become the technical expert for the herbicide portfolio, working with the marketing, distribution and technical expertise within partner companies to assure common understanding of product performance and positioning in the market.

·         Cooperate in the planning and execution of field trials for product visibility.

·         Share technical expertise with the grower customers and distributors for ISK partner companies on an as needed basis.

·         Establish and maintain relationships with many cooperators at contract research organizations as well as with university and government scientists.

·         Obtain field trial reports and prepare summaries tailored to audience suitable for; Regulatory submissions, Marketing and Management to guide business decisions.

·         Write label directions and provide guidance on suitable restrictions for new uses on pesticide labels.

·         Represent us at professional meetings (e.g. WSSA, NAICC, IR4 Minor Use, and PMC Minor Use) and on relevant professional committees.

·         Act as GLP study director if required.

 

 

 

Qualifications

·         Ph.D. in Weed Science/Plant Ecology or a related field; Candidates with a Master’s degree will be considered with at least 3 years of relevant experience

·         Proficient in Microsoft Office, with frequent use of PowerPoint and Excel.

·         Possess additional computer skills related to the organization and analysis of data, familiarity with ARM software a plus.

·         Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate scientific information and influence diverse audiences through written and verbal presentations

·         Ability to effectively manage multiple projects, in different geographies and time-zones through collaboration with contract field research  

·         Capability to work independently

·         A team player capable of contributing in a collaborative multi-disciplinary team environment as required in order to guide business decisions

·         Ability and willingness to travel, including international

·         Ability to speak and/or comprehend Spanish is a plus.

·         Candidates must be legally eligible to work in the United States
