Agri Chemicals Plant Manager of Quality Assurance / Quality Control

The Manager of Quality Assurance will lead the QC labs at 2 plants by ensuring adequate staffing, qualification, training and equipment to fulfill the legal requirements and those defined by processes and guidelines for quality management and EHS.

The successful candidate will ensure safe and reliable operations while striving for cost and efficiency optimization while developing relevant quality guidelines, procedures and processes as required and keep those updated and conforming with the respective requirements.

The candidate will proactively collaborate with the global quality community,  manufacturing, regulatory, R&D and supply chain communities in all quality relevant matters and identify and implement best practices in collaboration with the global QA community.

- Lead the QC labs  to fulfill the respective tasks in a safe, reliable and efficient manner and within the approved budget.
- Ensure compliance of corresponding results with legal and requirements by ensuring adequate staffing and an adequate qualification / training status of the incumbent and all team members at all times.
- Keep the quality management system (processes, procedures, guidelines etc.) up to date and in accordance with legal / requirements and ensure proper documentation.
- Keep equipment at state of the art and identify / provide training (technical and scientific) to ensure qualified and appropriate handling of all activities.
- Proactively collaborate with the global quality community,  manufacturing, regulatory, R&D and supply chain communities in all quality relevant matters to avoid customer complaints and ensure on time and in spec manufacturing at our sites and assigned third party companies (e.g. toll manufacturing).
- Actively participate in future development and improvement projects and proactively support the identification and implementation of best practices in strong collaboration within the global quality community .
- Implementation and follow up of improvements / recommendations from audits, visit reports etc. for EHS, quality and administrative topics.
- Strive for continuous improvements by review and interpretation of data, reviewing of literature, new technologies, and exchange within the team, the regional and global quality community.

- PhD degree in Analytical or Organic Chemistry – OR – MS degree in Chemistry with a minimum of fifteen (15) years of broad-based analytical knowledge and experience.
- Supervisory experience, providing adequate supervision, guidance and training..
- Experience in effective quality management systems.
- Hands-on experience maintaining and troubleshooting sophisticated analytical instrumentation.
- Analytical thinking and planning skills.
- Communication skills, capable of convincing and persuading others.
- Able and willing to travel domestically and internationally.

- Chromatography (HPLC-UV, HPLC-MS, GC), spectroscopy and wet chemical techniques.
- Proactive collaboration within and outside respective manufacturing sites.
