This senior position is part of a highly interactive and supportive team and is accountable for developing and leading programs for the responsible and ethical management of Ag plant protection products throughout their lifecycle – from R&D to final disposal. Responsibilities The primary measure of the success in this role will be the achievement of annual sales targets set by Executive and Business management. 


The BD professional will conduct a minimum of twenty face-to-face client visits/meetings and/or teleconferences per month, document the substance of these meetings and develop proper follow-up and action plans to further the opportunity.  The emphasis will be to engage existing and prospective clients through face-to-face interactions with a heightened emphasis on new, prospective client engagement.  Teleconferences will be used as a means to qualify opportunities, introduce operational subject experts, probe for potential synergies and engage in a consultative selling approach. Additionally these meetings provide follow-ups on existing or pending projects, and interface with remote/virtual clients where face-to-face interactions are limited.  The ultimate goal of these client interactions is to drive incremental sales and to maintain existing business, especially in the face of enhanced competition.  .


Responsiveness and Delivery to Promise will be the watchwords of the BD professional.  This will include timely communications with clients (call-backs within one business day) and a sense of urgency around RFP’s/RFI’s, proposals, scope of work forms, scope change orders, CDA’s, MSA’s, conference calls and maintaining sufficient customer intimacy.  The BD’s will be the primary and active interface between the clients, business management and operations.  The BD professional will receive the support of inside technical operational staff and business management staff to help support their efforts in the field.

JOB Summary: Reporting to the Head of Global Product Development, this critical position enables the execution of growth strategy. In this position, the formulation chemist will develop and evaluate new end-use products according to market and customer needs, using specialized formulation technology and processes. The formulation chemist will work closely with other members of the formulations team supporting Global Product Development initiatives.

The formulation chemist will also conduct specialized physiochemical testing on candidate formulations and competitive products to determine how well formulations will perform under actual use conditions, conduct or outsource required regulatory studies, assist in manufacturing scale up and production, and trouble-shoot field performance problems. Formulation chemists also ensure that intellectual property is developed and freedom to operate is ensured for new formulations.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: College degree required; a Master’s of Science or Ph.D. in chemistry, biochemistry, or materials science preferred. An advanced degree is not required for individuals with adequate experience. Knowledge of agricultural formulations, their use, physical testing requirements and new technologies amounting to at least 5 year’s experience in the development of agricultural formulations is essential to perform this job.

Experience with successfully developing new formulations and products are necessary, and a working knowledge of global regulatory requirements and protocols for physical testing of new formulations is a plus. Must have a working knowledge in formulation and analytical chemistry equipment and its use, as well as a basic knowledge of analytical chemistry. This position requires a Working knowledge of patent processes and intellectual property management. Fluency in English (verbal and written) is essential for this position, and knowledge of a second language, such as Spanish or Portuguese is beneficial.

The Manager of Quality Assurance will lead the QC labs at 2 plants by ensuring adequate staffing, qualification, training and equipment to fulfill the legal requirements and those defined by processes and guidelines for quality management and EHS.

The successful candidate will ensure safe and reliable operations while striving for cost and efficiency optimization while developing relevant quality guidelines, procedures and processes as required and keep those updated and conforming with the respective requirements.

The role requires the successful candidate to design, develop, and validate qualitative and quantitative methodology for agricultural products, intermediates and impurities. Responsibilities include building/maintaining relationships with multidisciplinary and international teams, internal and external .The scope of the assignment can include support for Discovery, process and formulations development, manufacturing, registration, and regulatory affairs as related to development, commercialization, renewal and maintenance of agricultural products.


Primary Duties

  • Supervise and direct a laboratory program(s) to develop quantitative and qualitative methods.
  • Design/direct/conduct product chemistry studies, 5-batch analyses for assay and impurities to meet regulatory guidelines.
  • Lead and coordinate as study director/monitor the overall process, internally and at external partners for regulatory studies in order to meet regulatory guidelines.
  • Function as product and technology focal point (technical guardian) for multiple products in order to provide a single point of contact for operations, registration, marketing, etc.
  • Interface with customers (e.g. operations, Discovery, R&RA, Alliance Partners) in order to resolve product issues and transfer technology.
  • Solve customer problems through analytical chemistry in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Train, develop, and supervise associate chemists in a way that enhances their knowledge, skills and capabilities in analytical chemistry and Core Values.
  • Know, understand and practice all aspects of Safety Policies and Principles, including laboratory safety and industrial hygiene protocols.
  • Manage multiple, co-current projects/programs and prioritize work to efficiently allocate resources to meet business needs.



·         Ph.D. degree with the ability to apply analytical technique/discipline, such as chromatography (HPLC, UHPLC, GC) and mass spectrometry.

·         Experience as study director to generate methodology and subsequent reports under a GLP quality environment to meet regulatory needs.

·         Experience in applying statistical methodology , analytical knowledge/expertise, and computer skills to organize data and verify the validity of studies.

·         Strong track record of providing timely and accurate results that meet business needs while simultaneously handling multiple projects.

·         Experience with functioning as a member/leader of a larger project team including both internal and external customers/partners/vendors.

·         Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

·         Experience in supervising and developing associate chemists.

·         Experience in the management and upkeep of a safe laboratory under Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) including instrument maintenance and troubleshooting.

·         Experience in responding to change and overcome barriers to implement new initiatives within lab or work team.

Bio-Control Technology Group Leader needed

BioControl Technology Group Leader.

This position will lead our Technology efforts as we execute against Health & Protection’s BioProtection strategies.  A thorough understanding of the role of food microbiology and antimicrobial strategies, research and development is essential.  This person would be expected to be a strategic thinker and possess the experience and ability to lead, manage, recruit and engage a team of strong scientists in our quest for the identification, research and development of novel food protection strategies to enhance food safety, food preservation and sustainability.

This position involves leading an organization of more than 40 individuals, distributed between two sites:

This position operates in an office/laboratory environment and reports to the Technology Leader in the Health and Protection Division.

The leader of this team is responsible for three key areas of our Bio-Protection Technology:

1)     Discovery and research of H&P’s protective solutions around anti-microbials and antioxidants for food.

2)     Development and application efforts on food protection solutions to enhance food safety, food preservation and sustainability.

3)     Support ongoing R&D efforts on Animal Applications for Direct-fed Microbials


Responsibilities of this Scientist position include:

·         Lead a team of scientists in the discovery, research and development of anti-microbials, antioxidants and bio-protection solutions in support of the Health & Protection Division

·         Partner closely with business in the direction of projects in the research and development of discovery of probiotic assets and applications.

·         Leverage internal and external relationships in the understanding, discovery, research and development of novel food protection solutions.

·         Direct efforts in the implementation of novel and inventive application-based (matrix-dependent detection, discrimination, enumeration) approaches for the discovery, research and development of food protection (antimicrobial and antioxidant) solutions.

·         Provide strategic direction in support of invention disclosures as appropriate to protect innovative processes and solutions and applications

·         Use internal/external scientific literature, collaborations, and emerging industry trends for new product/process development and to identify potential “breakthrough” technology and perform research as needed to support product development and “breakthrough” feasibility studies

·         Identify, develop and manage external collaborations in support of development and “breakthrough” efforts

·         Communicate results to Manager and project/program stakeholders on a regular basis






·      A Ph.D. is required with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience

·      Trained in Microbiology, Food Science, or related field

·      Demonstrated ability to lead, manage, recruit and engage a team of strong scientists

·      Extensive experience in the research and development of food protection solutions, including exploration and development of novel food protection solutions to enhance food safety, food preservation and sustainability.

·      Experience in project management; planning, tracking and reporting

·      Possess excellent oral and written communication skills for presentation of scientific concepts and results to internal and external customers and stakeholders
