Primary Duties

  • Supervise and direct a laboratory program(s) to develop quantitative and qualitative methods.

Qualifications

Strategic Management: Develop and lead product stewardship programs throughout the business and influence outcomes whenever possible to enhance competitive position. Key areas of oversight are research and development, manufacturing, storage, transportation and distribution, safe use and container management. Understand the global and local legislative and regulatory initiatives that shape the regulatory environment for the industry and recommend change in advance of competitive pressure. Lead the external Stewardship Sustainability Council to provide long-term strategies and guidance for Ag group.  Lead efforts to develop global communication plans regarding product stewardship, and our products.

Issues Management: Lead an established internal network of area business unit product stewardship partners to establish a common understanding of challenges, and pursue effective proactive programs that maintain and enhance public standing as a socially responsible and responsive organization.  Interact constructively with non-government organizations (NGO’s) – i.e. conservationists, environmentalists – to achieve products stewardship and sustainability goals.

External Focus: Monitor and communicate the key social, political and regulatory forces shaping the external environment, Influence outcomes that benefit company as a member of industry association committees (Product Stewardship, FAO Code of Conduct, Container Management, Working Group Product Stewardship and Communication

Compliance: Ensure the success of the Responsible Care Management System programs through training, audits and action plans to address non-conformances and opportunities for improvement.  Ensure adverse events are reported and evaluated as an early warning system for breakdowns in stewardship systems. Continue training and implementing the human health monitoring programs in the areas.

Personal and Organizational Development: Pursue personal development activities to continually build competence, increase effectiveness and enhance potential for advancement to higher levels of responsibility.  Contribute to the development of other members of global regulatory community. Recommend organizational change including staffing in response to evolving business strategy and needs.

Required Education:

· Bachelor’s degree required; an advanced degree in a related discipline (e.g. chemistry, toxicology, eco-toxicology, environmental fate) preferred, with a minimum of 10 years regulatory experience in the agricultural industry dealing with registration and regulatory matters

Role Promote and sell Agrochemical Development services and expand our client base while fostering strong client relationships.  The ideal candidate must have an existing client relationship portfolio that is strategic to the agrochemistry business.  Act as a liason between external clients and Business Management and Operational teams.  Essential to the role is the ability to identify, prospect and develop a new client base within existing and new market sectors.  The requirements listed above are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. 

 

The primary emphasis of this roll will be to maintain current business and develop new business for the agrochemical development line of service (radiosynthesis, chemical process development, mammalian toxicology, eFate, metabolism, residue analysis and analytical chemistry) by utilizing tactical, strategic and consultative selling approaches.  A skilled candidate will be able to leverage and mine for opportunities that fit existing line of services or may participate in development of new growth areas. These service offerings will be used to leverage and initiate relationships with small and emerging companies, established agrochemical companies, task forces or regulatory consultants.  The candidate will also be requested to explore opportunities in complementary areas such as biocides, antimicrobials, nanomaterials, food packaging, food flavors and ingredients, TSCA compounds or fire extinguishing agents.

 

Responsibilities The primary measure of the success in this role will be the achievement of annual sales targets set by Executive and Business management. 

 

The BD professional will conduct a minimum of twenty face-to-face client visits/meetings and/or teleconferences per month, document the substance of these meetings and develop proper follow-up and action plans to further the opportunity.  The emphasis will be to engage existing and prospective clients through face-to-face interactions with a heightened emphasis on new, prospective client engagement.  Teleconferences will be used as a means to qualify opportunities, introduce operational subject experts, probe for potential synergies and engage in a consultative selling approach. Additionally these meetings provide follow-ups on existing or pending projects, and interface with remote/virtual clients where face-to-face interactions are limited.  The ultimate goal of these client interactions is to drive incremental sales and to maintain existing business, especially in the face of enhanced competition.  .

 

Responsiveness and Delivery to Promise will be the watchwords of the BD professional.  This will include timely communications with clients (call-backs within one business day) and a sense of urgency around RFP’s/RFI’s, proposals, scope of work forms, scope change orders, CDA’s, MSA’s, conference calls and maintaining sufficient customer intimacy.  The BD’s will be the primary and active interface between the clients, business management and operations.  The BD professional will receive the support of inside technical operational staff and business management staff to help support their efforts in the field.

 

The BD professional will be required to populate SalesForce.com with relevant sales information in an effort to streamline efficiency of the sales/prospecting process, and to share leads and contact information internally.  Additionally, the BD professional will maintain an active sales/opportunity funnel.   Effort must be made to keep this information current to ensure accuracy with forecasting.  The BD professional will strive to work with other BD colleagues to grow business across all lines of service and to leverage current opportunities or relationships that have the potential to foster business within other lines of service.

Agri-Chemicals Formulation Chemist

JOB Summary: Reporting to the Head of Global Product Development, this critical position enables the execution of growth strategy. In this position, the formulation chemist will develop and evaluate new end-use products according to market and customer needs, using specialized formulation technology and processes. The formulation chemist will work closely with other members of the formulations team supporting Global Product Development initiatives.

The formulation chemist will also conduct specialized physiochemical testing on candidate formulations and competitive products to determine how well formulations will perform under actual use conditions, conduct or outsource required regulatory studies, assist in manufacturing scale up and production, and trouble-shoot field performance problems. Formulation chemists also ensure that intellectual property is developed and freedom to operate is ensured for new formulations.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: College degree required; a Master’s of Science or Ph.D. in chemistry, biochemistry, or materials science preferred. An advanced degree is not required for individuals with adequate experience. Knowledge of agricultural formulations, their use, physical testing requirements and new technologies amounting to at least 5 year’s experience in the development of agricultural formulations is essential to perform this job.

Experience with successfully developing new formulations and products are necessary, and a working knowledge of global regulatory requirements and protocols for physical testing of new formulations is a plus. Must have a working knowledge in formulation and analytical chemistry equipment and its use, as well as a basic knowledge of analytical chemistry. This position requires a Working knowledge of patent processes and intellectual property management. Fluency in English (verbal and written) is essential for this position, and knowledge of a second language, such as Spanish or Portuguese is beneficial.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

60% Develop and evaluate new formulations for global proprietary product portfolio, focusing on product differentiation and added value attributes. Develop new intellectual property and ensure freedom to operate for new and existing products.

10% Conduct physical and chemical evaluations of candidate formulations and competitive products to address global needs. Conduct or outsource regulatory studies related to formulations according to Global Regulatory guidelines and needs.

10% Prepare samples for global field trials and provide needed information on sample handling and use.

10% Maintain and develop knowledge of competitive products and novel technologies. Utilize to identify and develop novel products portfolio. Reverse engineer competitor products where appropriate. Build relationships with University/research institutes and industrial provides with formulation expertise

Agri Chemicals Plant Manager of Quality Assurance / Quality Control

Description
The Manager of Quality Assurance will lead the QC labs at 2 plants by ensuring adequate staffing, qualification, training and equipment to fulfill the legal requirements and those defined by processes and guidelines for quality management and EHS.

The successful candidate will ensure safe and reliable operations while striving for cost and efficiency optimization while developing relevant quality guidelines, procedures and processes as required and keep those updated and conforming with the respective requirements.

The candidate will proactively collaborate with the global quality community,  manufacturing, regulatory, R&D and supply chain communities in all quality relevant matters and identify and implement best practices in collaboration with the global QA community.

Description:
- Lead the QC labs  to fulfill the respective tasks in a safe, reliable and efficient manner and within the approved budget.
- Ensure compliance of corresponding results with legal and requirements by ensuring adequate staffing and an adequate qualification / training status of the incumbent and all team members at all times.
- Keep the quality management system (processes, procedures, guidelines etc.) up to date and in accordance with legal / requirements and ensure proper documentation.
- Keep equipment at state of the art and identify / provide training (technical and scientific) to ensure qualified and appropriate handling of all activities.

Responsibilities of this Scientist position include:

·         Lead a team of scientists in the discovery, research and development of anti-microbials, antioxidants and bio-protection solutions in support of the Health & Protection Division

·         Partner closely with business in the direction of projects in the research and development of discovery of probiotic assets and applications.

·         Leverage internal and external relationships in the understanding, discovery, research and development of novel food protection solutions.

·         Direct efforts in the implementation of novel and inventive application-based (matrix-dependent detection, discrimination, enumeration) approaches for the discovery, research and development of food protection (antimicrobial and antioxidant) solutions.

·         Provide strategic direction in support of invention disclosures as appropriate to protect innovative processes and solutions and applications

·         Use internal/external scientific literature, collaborations, and emerging industry trends for new product/process development and to identify potential “breakthrough” technology and perform research as needed to support product development and “breakthrough” feasibility studies

·         Identify, develop and manage external collaborations in support of development and “breakthrough” efforts

·         Communicate results to Manager and project/program stakeholders on a regular basis

 

 

Qualifications

Requirements:

 

·      A Ph.D. is required with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience

·      Trained in Microbiology, Food Science, or related field

·      Demonstrated ability to lead, manage, recruit and engage a team of strong scientists

·      Extensive experience in the research and development of food protection solutions, including exploration and development of novel food protection solutions to enhance food safety, food preservation and sustainability.

·      Experience in project management; planning, tracking and reporting

·      Possess excellent oral and written communication skills for presentation of scientific concepts and results to internal and external customers and stakeholders

Description of Job: This position will create and implement marketing strategies and plans in support for the Agricultural Biorational Business Unit business to achieve the short- and long-term objectives supporting growth in the US and Canada.  The position will report to the V.P. Business Management with a dotted line to three Global Business Managers.  Responsibilities include identifying and developing business opportunities, creating financial forecasts, developing segment specific regional marketing/business plans, and leading business unit branding strategies for the business’s three Agricultural platforms: Biorational Crop Enhancement , Biorational Crop Protection  and Biorational Rhizosphere.  Responsibilities may be expanded to include other technologies that could be added depending upon BBU needs. The position will be responsible for working with colleagues to implement and execute strategies in the region.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for co-development and attainment of Short Range Plans and Mid-Range Plans financial goals at the region level and supporting regional affiliate initiatives to obtain these goals.
  • Successfully splitting time to adequately cover the various Agricultural platform (BCE, BCP, and BRZ) initiatives.
  • Provide Global strategic direction and work with affiliates to gain alignment of regional long-range marketing strategies and plans for the Ag businesses and manage short-range objectives to meet near-term sales and profit goals.
  • Analyze and interpret market research data to identify trends and opportunities and identify adjustments to strategies leading to sustainable and enhanced growth of business.
  • Communicate global strategies and work with affiliates to support their implementation of these strategies.
  • Work with affiliates to develop shared annual goals to meet strategic and financial objectives.

  • Assess and evaluate unmet market needs in order to coordinate and facilitate regional business expansion projects.
  • Participate and provide guidance in the development of the annual R&D and Regulatory programs for the BBU product line.
  • Participate in cross-functional teams to achieve business and product development objectives for product life cycle management and new product initiatives.
  • Evaluate and assist in licensing and acquisition efforts to complement existing portfolio and take advantage of new products and market opportunities for the BBU business.
  • Participate in industry initiatives and organizations to keep abreast of the changes in the market place and adjust marketing strategies accordingly.

Experience: Minimum of 10 years’ experience as a marketing manager in an agricultural field, preferably with biorational product management, with a demonstrated knowledge and understanding of marketing, promotion and demand creation. A strong background in marketing and/or agricultural chemical products a plus.

Education: Bachelor’s degree, preferably in marketing or agricultural field, is required.

Travel: Ability to travel is required (some international)

The position reports directly to the Director of Fate & Metabolism or management designee. Position is responsible for the direction and supervision of a staff dedicated to conducting a broad range of regulated studies for the Agricultural industry.

 

Job Summary

 

The Group Leader provides a group of regulated testing services, including analytical or biological support for regulated products, primarily crop protection products. Individual is responsible for the management and supervision of subordinate activities related to the conduct, analysis, evaluation and reporting of contracted studies. The Group Leader ensures conformance to technical, quality assurance, and global regulatory requirements. He/She collaborates with other Technical Leaders and Senior Scientists to assure overall study and program success. He/She provides overall supervisory direction to the team and may also mentor to develop more junior scientists.  The group Leader will provide technical training to team members as needed and will help with proposal development.  This position serves as a Study Director on highly complex studies or programs.
